Burnished Gold Eagles
Burnished Gold Eagles, also referred to as collectible uncirculated Gold Eagles, represented a new version of the popular bullion coins introduced by the United States Mint in 2006.
The coins were struck on specially burnished blanks and carried the "W" mint mark. They have been issued from 2006 to 2008, with the offering resumed in 2011. Typically, these burnished Gold Eagles have lower mintages than either the bullion or proof versions.
