Burnished Gold Eagles

Below is a selection of Burnished Gold Eagles. This type of coin was first offered by the United States Mint in 2006 as a collectible version of the bullion coin. The coins were struck on specially burnished blanks and were sold directly by the Mint. They carry the "W" mint mark to signify mintage at the West Point Mint.

The 2006-W, 2007-W, and 2008-W Burnished Gold Eagles were issued in four denominations and as Four Coin Sets. Because many of the Burnished Gold Eagles have significantly lower mintages than the bullion version, they have become popular with collectors.
